After Guinness, we hopped on on "hop on hop off" bus that took us around the city. As it was getting late, we decided to check into the Jameson Whiskey Distillery (or the site of the old one....now a bar and museum dedicated to it, the real one is just outside Cork). The kindly irish bus driver told us that Jameson's stays open until 5:30, which meant we were going to have the last tour! We arrived a full 25 min ahead of schedule and walked around the gift shop for a while.
After the tour KC was invited to particpate in a drink contest between Jack Daniels and one other whiskey whose name escapes me at the moment. We were drinking at a table with a bunch of Italians, who were, I must say, very funny! Too bad I didn't get any pictures of them!
Then, after the tour, we ended up at the bar, and KC ordered a set of top shelf samples of Jameson. It was quiet and the bartender was awesome!
We had a really nice time. We could have sat all night sipping that wonderful stuff in the comfy chairs of that bar. But alas, the night fell and we headed home....more to come!
